That’s why we use Time to Pet, a secure, easy-to-use software that puts everything you need right at your fingertips.


Whether you're brand new to our Barkside Bay family or just need a refresher, this guide will walk you through how to use Time to Pet and get the most out of your pet care experience.


🐶 Step 1: Account Activation – After Your Meet & Greet

Once we've completed your Meet & Greet, you’ll receive an email from Time to Pet with an invitation to activate your account.


We take care of setting up your profile for you—including your pet(s) info, home access instructions, and any care notes you've shared. All you need to do is:

  1. Open the welcome email from Time to Pet.

  2. Click the activation link.

  3. Set your password and log in!

  4. From there, you’re ready to start requesting services, messaging your sitters, and receiving visit updates.

🐕 Step 2: Requesting Services

Booking services through Time to Pet is quick and intuitive. Whether you're planning a vacation, a late work night, or just want a mid-day walk for your pup, you can schedule visits in just a few clicks.


Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Time to Pet portal or open the app.

  2. Click the “Schedule” tab.

  3. Select the dates and times you need services.

  4. Choose your service type (dog walking, drop-in, cat care, overnight, etc.).

  5. Add any notes you’d like us to know for that visit—special instructions, behavioral updates, or fun requests like extra belly rubs.

  6. Submit your request!


We’ll review and confirm your visit as soon as possible. If we have any questions, we’ll reach out via the messaging center.

Once services begin, you’ll start receiving detailed visit reports after each appointment. These aren’t just basic check-ins—they're real-time updates with everything you need to know.


Every visit update includes:

  • A summary of what we did during the visit

  • Potty/meal/medication status

You’ll receive updates by email or push notification if you have the app, so you can enjoy peace of mind whether you're at the office or out of town.

The Message Center in Time to Pet is the best way to stay in touch with our team. You can use it to:

  • Share updates about your pet’s routine

  • Let us know about changes in medication or behavior

  • Ask questions or give feedback

  • Send us last-minute notes before a visit


Here’s the key thing: every employee caring for your pet has access to your message thread, so they can see your instructions in real time and respond directly.


That means no communication lag, no missed messages, and no confusion—just smooth, consistent care across the board.


💳 Step 5: Invoices & Payment

Time to Pet helps streamline our billing so you can focus on your furry family—not paperwork.


Here’s how it works:

  • Once services are scheduled, an invoice is automatically generated.

  • You’ll receive a notification when your invoice is ready.

  • Simply log in to your portal or app to view and pay securely with a credit or debit card.


📝 Keeping Your Info Up to Date

To help us provide the best possible care, please keep your profile and your pet’s info updated. You can log in anytime to:

  • Edit feeding instructions, medication schedules, or emergency contacts

  • Add new pets (yay!)

  • Update home access notes (new alarm code? gate lock? Let us know!)


This ensures your sitter or walker has everything they need before each visit.
