What’s Included in a Barkside Bay Walk?

(Hint: It’s More Than Just a Walk)

At Barkside Bay, we know how much your pets mean to you—and that’s exactly why we’ve built our dog walking service to be more than just a quick loop around the block.

Yes, your pup gets their much-needed potty break and exercise, but each walk is also a chance for enrichment, connection, confidence building, and joy. It’s a mini adventure designed around your dog’s unique needs—and it’s delivered by a team that cares for them like family.

So, what exactly is included in a Barkside Bay walk? Let’s take a closer look.

🐶 1. Personalized Attention (Because No Two Dogs Are the Same)

Every dog is different, and we treat them that way! Whether your pup is a slow stroller, a high-energy explorer, a senior with a specific pace, or a shy rescue still building confidence, we tailor each walk to what makes them comfortable.

We’ll stick to their preferred pace and style—whether that’s a classic walk, a sniff-heavy meander (sniffaris, anyone?), or backyard time for dogs who aren’t into neighborhood strolls.

Got special requests? Just let us know in your Time to Pet portal. We’re all ears!

🧠 2. Enrichment on Every Walk

We don’t just walk—we engage.

We build in sniff breaks, reward calm leash behavior, and encourage polite manners using positive reinforcement. We might even toss in a mini game of “find it” or practice some simple cues like “sit” or “wait,” depending on your pup’s energy and comfort level.

Enrichment helps tire dogs out mentally as well as physically—and it makes walks more fun, too!

📷 3. Real-Time Updates with Photos + Notes

After every walk, you’ll get a detailed update through Time to Pet, including:

  • A written summary of how your pup did

  • Adorable photos (we know you want to see those tail wags!)

  • Potty info (did they go #1 or #2?)

  • Any other helpful notes we think you should know

It’s like a little postcard from your pup, right to your phone.

💬 4. Seamless Communication Through Our App

You can message us directly in the Time to Pet app to update instructions, ask questions, or just check in. The best part? The walker caring for your pet sees those messages in real-time, which means better continuity and care—even if your primary walker is out and another team member is stepping in.

We keep communication open, consistent, and responsive.

🧼 5. Post-Walk Cleanup + TLC

We never leave a mess behind. After each visit, we:

  • Refresh water bowls if needed

  • Wipe muddy paws (especially important in spring!)

  • Make sure your pup is settled and secure before we go

And yes—if your dog likes a little cuddle time or a belly rub before we leave, we’ll happily build that in too.

🏡 6. Safety-First Approach

We use safe, well-fitted gear and carefully manage interactions with other dogs and people. If your dog has triggers (like reactivity, fear, or overexcitement), we use positive strategies to help them feel calm and secure.

Your pet’s well-being is always our top priority.

Bonus: We’re Their People

Maybe the biggest thing we offer on every walk? Consistency, care, and genuine connection.

Our walkers take time to build a relationship with your pet, so they feel safe, understood, and excited to see us. We’re often told, “They love you more than they love us!”—and we’ll happily take that compliment. We LOVE our four-legged best friends!
